Why is the prostate test kit important?

Prostate Specific Antigen - PSA - is a substance made by the prostate gland. It naturally enters the bloodstream. As the prostate enlarges for any reason it secretes more PSA therefore checking for elevated levels of PSA can act as a good early warning of potential problems with the prostate gland including prostate cancer.
